The Power of Perspective
Title Inspired by Candace B. Woods
Perspective is a particular attitude toward, or way of regarding something; a point of view. Your perspective is considerably important as it is the key determinant of how you view and come out on the other side of unfavorable circumstances, actions, challenges and events.
We have all had obstacles. I am willing to bet that most of the life challenges you have endured has either shaped you, or sharpened your problem solving skills. People often say that a challenge or problem is an opportunity for creativity and growth.
As a matter of fact, we would not change if it wasn't for the situation that kept us praying, or humbled us to seek God for guidance and direction. When Joseph was hated by his brothers, sold into slavery and forced to endure his pit experience, I'm sure he was tempted to pray his way out of the pit.
The encouragement in this story is; Jospeh remembered the Lord and kept his perspective (point of view) focused on the God who could deliver him.
We are challenged in this world today. It is easy to look at what we are faced with as a grim reality of doom and gloom. However, with the right perspective, we can view our current situation as an opportunity to spread love, hope, peace and kindness.
